Join the 2025 World Scholar's Cup Team Representing Power of Words Academy!
We are excited to announce that Power of Words Academy will host the Toronto regional round of the World Scholar’s Cup on Friday, May 9th, and Saturday, May 10, 2025! This prestigious international competition brings together over 50,000 students from more than 60 countries, providing an unparalleled opportunity for participants to engage in a transformative experience that fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity.
This exciting regional round will take place on May 9th and 10th, and we warmly invite our current students and alumni to represent Power of Words Academy at this event! The registration fee is $100, which includes competition registration ($50), one preparation session on May 3 from 10 AM to 1 PM, and a POW Academy T-Shirt. For those already enrolled in the “World Scholar’s Cup Prep Course,” this fee covers both the competition and the preparation session.
Why Participate?
The World Scholar’s Cup presents a unique educational journey filled with engaging challenges that cultivate collaboration, creativity, and confidence. Students will form teams of three and tackle a variety of stimulating events, including:
Scholar’s Challenge: Test knowledge across diverse subjects.
Collaborative Writing: Showcase creativity and teamwork in writing.
Team Debate: Develop public speaking and argumentation skills.
Scholar’s Bowl: Participate in a fun quiz that tests quick thinking and teamwork.
The competition features Junior (Ages 10-14 as of December 2024) and Senior (Ages 15-17 as of December 2024) divisions, ensuring that students compete alongside their peers at similar skill levels.

Last year, our teams achieved outstanding success, with a junior team securing 1st place in the Toronto regional round, as well as impressive performances at the Global Round in Stockholm, where they earned 8th place in Collaborative Writing and 6th place in Debate.
